Spinnst du?
Diese Frage kann ich definitiv mit ja beantworten. Und zwar alle vier Wochen in einer kleinen Spinngruppe. Fasziniert hat mich das Spinnen vor allem, weil es so ein uraltes Handwerk ist. Und ich dachte, vielleicht kann man ja auch statt Wolle noch ganz andere Materialien miteinander verspinnen? Zeitungspapier, Orangennetze, was weiß ich. Tja, so richtig hat mich die Begeisterung leider dann doch nicht gepackt. Vielleicht lag es auch daran, das ich zu hause kein Spinnrad stehen habe und zwischendurch nicht üben konnte. Oder dass ich gar keine Idee hatte, was anschließend mit der gesponnenen Wolle geschehen soll. Die anderen Spinnfreundinnen stricken sich daraus was Nettes, aber das kann ich nicht so gut. Also fing ich irgendwie jeden Monat neu an und hatte nach einem Jahr gerade mal ein winziges braunes Wollknäuel geschafft… Aber seit Anja aus der Spinngruppe uns gezeigt hat, wie man mit einer Handspindel Garn spinnt, bin ich ganz begeistert! Das macht Spaß, ist schnell gelernt und so eine Spindel kann man überall hin mitnehmen, in den Garten, auf Reisen… Kukt mal, hier ist meine erstes handgesponnenes Garn!

Hello spindle!
Once a month I’m joining a group of women and their spinning wheels. Spinning has always fascinated me. Mainly because it is such an ancient craft. And I thought maybe instead of wool I could also spin other materials? Such as newspaper paper, plastic bags, orange nets, whatever. Well, in the end the enthusiasm didn’t grab me at all. Perhaps it was because I don’t have a spinning wheel at home and could not practice between our meetings. And also I had no idea what to do with the spun wool. The other women knit and always have some nice knitting projects. But I’m not a great knitter. So every month I started practicing spinning right from the beginning. And guess what, after a year I had just a tiny brown ball of handspun wool… But since Anja from the spinning group explained us how to work with a hand spindle I’m quite excited! This is fun, quickly learned and a spindle can be taken everywhere you like: into the garden, traveling on the train… It’s quite relaxing. Look, this is my first happy handspun yarn!

¡Hola huso!
Una vez al mes quedamos con unas mujeres del pueblo para hilar lana. Siempre me ha fascinado hacer hilo con la rueca. Principalmente porque es una técnica tan antigua. Y pensé que quizá también se puede hacer hilo de materiales de reciclaje. Por ejemplo papel de periódico, bolsas de plástico, redes de naranjas, lo que sea. Bueno, al final el entusiasmo no me agarró en absoluto. Tal vez también fue porque no tengo mi propia rueca en casa y no podía practicar entre nuestras reuniones. Y tampoco tenía idea de qué hacer con la lana hilada. Las otras mujeres tejen y siempre tienen buenas ideas alrededar de esto. Pero como nunca tejo, no soy muy bueno en ello. Así que cada mes comencé a hilar lana desde el principio y con poca paciencia. ¿Y sabes que? Después de un año tuve sólo una diminuta bola de lana marrón… Pero desde que Anja nos mostró cómo trabajar con un huso estoy muy emocionada! Esto si que es divertido, rápidamente aprendido y un huso se puede llevar donde quieras: a jardín, al tren… A mi me relaja mucho esta actividad. ¡Y mira, aquí está mi primer hilo felizmente hecho a mano!
